In 2002, the Chinese government had initiated a policy aimed at carrying out and developing networks of business connection with young overseas Chinese prominent entrepreneurs throughout the world.
Thus, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office invited Chinese businesspersons around the globe to attend China Discovery Trip held to promote the knowledge of Chinese traditions and economy. Attendees would get to meet with high ranking state officials and businessmen. The event was led by the then China’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Qian Qichen. The top eight Thai Chinese executives are also invited as below:
- Khunying Natthika Wattanavakin Angubolkul as the group leader
- Chali Sophonpanich
- Prasong Owlarn
- Trit Ophaswonge
- Nipon Leelasithorn
- Soopakij Chearvanont
- Chatchai Veramatheekul
- Somnuk Kyavatanakij
After the visit, eight Thai executives together with their entourages set up Young Thai Entrepreneurs Club (YTEC) led by Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul. The following annual operation of China Discovery Trip raised the number of new Thai-Chinese generations participating with the club. Mr. Chali Sophonpanich as the successor of Khunyin Natthika, therefore, transformed the club for Young Thai Entrepreneurs Association (YTEA).
The association has a mission to promote relationship between Thailand, China and Chinese network throughout the world on both public and private organizations. The designed relation is based on sincerity, morality, ethics and social responsibility. YTEA is a business, friendship and cultural network that aims at supporting trade, investment, bilateral recommendation and cultural collaboration of Thailand and China, along with Chinese residential network around the world.
On this auspicious occasion, YTEA will prosper and we hope to be the one who bonds long lasting friendship or social, cultural or business relationships between Thailand and China, including Chinese businessmen in other countries around the world.
